Lieutenant Commander Manny Marguy

We couldn't be prouder of YOU!

Manny  enlisted in the U.S Navy on 17 August 1978 and 

attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. 

Upon completion of Yeoman "A" School in Meridian,

Mississippi, he received orders to the USS Long

Beach (CGN-9) homeported in San Diego, California. 

During this tour, he deployed with ship's company

to the Western Pacific.

Upon completion of his initial sea tour, he was reassigned to the Pentagon, Washington,

 D C, where he served as Flag Writer for the Vice Chief of Naval Operations.  In April 1982, he attended Flag Writer “C” School in Meridian, Mississippi – earning the Flag Writer NEC 2514 and graduated with honors. In August 1982, he returned to the Pentagon for duty and served as Flag Writer to the Director, Politico-Military Policy and Plans Division (OP-61), and the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Plans, Policy and Operations) (OP-06).  In October 1986, he was reassigned to the Far East, where he served as the Flag Writer for the SEVENTH Fleet Commander, onboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19), homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.  He participated in various exercises including TEAM SPIRIT 86-88, EXERCISE COBRA GOLD, and numerous port calls throughout Asia. In October 1988, he returned to the Pentagon to serve as Flag Writer for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Naval Warfare (OP-07).  In January 1990, he was reassigned to Norfolk, Virginia , where he served as the Flag Writer for the Commander in Chief, U. S. Atlantic Fleet, and the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic/U.S. Atlantic Command.

Prior to receiving his commission as a Limited Duty Officer (Administration) in March 1993, he held the rank of Senior Chief Yeoman, and was later advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer in July 1997.  In June 1993, he reported onboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65), homeported in Norfolk Virginia, where he served as Ship’s Secretary and Aide to the Commanding Officer. In February 1996, he was reassigned to the Pentagon, where he served as Naval Aide for the Director, Navy Staff.  In March 1997, he was reassigned to the Bureau of Naval Personnel, Arlington, Virginia on the staff of the Director, Military Personnel and Policy Division (N-132), as Naval Aide/Administrative Assistant. In June 1998, he received orders to the Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, D C, where he served as Chief Navy/Marine Corps Personnel Branch (DAH-3NA).  During this assignment he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Regents College, New York. In January 2001, he assumed the duties as Officer in Charge, Personnel Support Detachment New London, in Groton, Connecticut.  In April 2003, he was reassigned to Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, where he served as station Administrative Officer.  In April 2006, he assumed duties as Executive Officer, Transient Personnel Unit, Jacksonville.  LCDR Marguy was recently accepted at the Naval Post Graduate School of Business and Public Policy, Monterey, California in the Executive MBA Program.
